I hate how people here think that “proper general English” is the only way to speak English and all the others are considered “idiocy” like if language has anything to do with intelligence. I’m not even from the U.S. and I know this better than most of you.

Reblogging partly because it’s completely right, and partly because other people seem to be reblogging it with the list cut off after the US dialects, but still labelled “all English dialects in North America,” and this is bugging the heck out of me.

EDIT: Further investigation shows that the original post had only the US dialects and then the others were added in an edit.  I am partially mollified.  I mean, I’m still annoyed that the wrongly-labelled shorter list is being reblogged all over the place, but I now see that no one cut out the rest of North America on purpose.

i’m so tired of seeing pictures and gifs about how using the term friend zone is sexist. that guy with dreads who says that you don’t deserve a cookie for being nice. what does that even mean? most couples who date don’t date each other because they did something extraordinary ok. HATE TO BREAK IT TO YOU. but something everyone seems to be missing is that a lot of people who date, date people they find to be funny, relatable, attractive, smart, things like this. so yeah, you shouldn’t be rewarded for being nice, you should be rewarded for being yourself. you don’t have to add all this extra effort, you shouldn’t have to do anything. so if you’re not an alpha male, you don’t have many options. that’s the complaint of the boy in the friend zone. my words of advice? if you find yourself getting led on by a girl who is only going to talk to you for comfort in-between dating guys who aren’t you. stop talking to her, that’s not even being a friend. that’s my real problem with the friend zone, they say you’re just friends, but that’s not even true either, you’re basically getting used to comfort her and getting nothing in return besides hopping that maybe you can be happy with her someday, which may never happen. now i’m not saying all girls only lead you on or what ever. some girls ask for you comfort and, hey! actually do care about you! some girls just want to be one of the guys and never asked you to be all over their shit. you know what? it’s complicated! and there’s nothing wrong with being a confused kid. this whole friend zone being a sexist term thing is such a non problem. it’s like people on tumblr got bored and just started looking for things to call sexist. something i’ve been hearing is that girls aren’t here for you. ok… but i understand that girls DO in fact like guys, and pursue them. so is it wrong to think maybe they could like me? is it wrong to have a misunderstanding over the fact that a girl laughs with you and hugs you and seems to want to always be around you? i can understand they just think you’re an awesome person but would rather date someone else. it’s frustrating as fuck and fucking annoying, but i can understand it, but let a damn mother fucker get confused. god damn. calm down. AND NOT ONLY THAT! when did it become sexist and racist to say ignorant things? how else can you learn but to question everyone and say what’s on your mind? i’m losing my train of thought. i’m just tired of this shit. you guys aren’t even making good points. i’m unfollowing so many people that all i have left are my sex pages. so tumblr is pretty much just porn for me now. i miss the days when we discussed real sexism, like showing the numbers for women who get payed less then men, or showing the possible number of unreported rapes. i don’t care about opinions that don’t consider mine at all while saying ignorant things that only the tumblr community could agree with.

Hey, here’s a fun fact: Women are not obligated to date you because they are nice to you, or you to them.

Women being nice to you but not wanting your dick doesn’t mean they are leading you on. It doesn’t mean they are horrible bitches.

Look dude, here’s facts: I understand that it is sad to like someone who doesn’t like you backthat way.It is ok to be sad. It is NOT ok to assume that girls who are nice to you but don’t want to date you are leading you on and are horrible horrible bitches. That IS sexist, and you are a fucknut for thinking so.

Is THIS the single most pressing issue of sexism in our culture? No. But it is a microaggression, and microaggressions need to be address sometimes.
